Chris and Christy Hockaday serve together as the Worship Ministry leaders of Faith Church. Their experience has equipped them to work with vocalists, musicians, media techicians, and sound engineers to create a powerful worship experience. Their love for God, people, music, and the church compels them to balance both their work in the church and their professional careers.
Chris holds a Master of Science Degree in Community Counseling and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing Communications from the University of Central Arkansas. He enjoys leading praise and worship for Faith Church, combining both contemporary and traditional music for the participants in worship. His knowledge of media presentation programs and technology has allowed Faith Church to enhance worship visually, as well as musically. When singing in the choir, Chris is a leader for the tenor section. He became interested in music very early in life: he began taking piano lessons at the age of five. Throughout his career, he has busied himself in leading praise music, choirs, and drama. While attending the University of Central Arkansas, he participated in the jazz band as a pianist.
Christy holds a Master of Science Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed two years of music theory, music literature and piano performance education at the University of Central Arkansas. She began piano lessons at the age of four and throughout her career has directed ensembles, musicians, vocalists, community choirs, and church musical performances.
Christy recently stated that “The relationships built during preparation for ministry through the Faith Church Worship team are strong bonds that develop the foundation for a powerful, united worship ministry together. It is truly a win-win. It’s not always about the music, but about God and people.”
